Tom Mark is a highly respected recording engineer with over 30 years experience. He started out during the early 70’s at Bearsville Studios working with artists like Paul Butterfield, Todd Rundgren, The Isley Brothers, Anthony Braxton and the Parliament Funkadelics.
In 1979 he met Carla Bley and Michael Mantler and began engineering at their private Grog Kill Studio. That was the beginning of a long-term relationship with Carla that goes on to this day. In 1991 he built his own studio in West Shokan, NY, The Make Believe Ballroom. During those ensuing years Tom worked with such artists as Michael Franks, Tony Levin, John Sebastian, Bill Bruford, Jack De Johnette, Robbie Dupree, Artie Traum, The California Guitar Trio amongst many others.
Tom has also done live sound at such venues as The Marverick Concerts, Rosendale Cafe, Cuneen-Hacket and The Kleinert /James Art Center. He is known for his warm, rich sound. He's quick, adaptable and a pleasure to work with . Now with Tom’s years of experience, he is concentrating on location recording, sound consulting, mastering and engineering at your space.
